Unfinal

I'm sorry, they're all of either myself or my sister. It's hard taking an hour from anyone else's time. But what do you think of the photos?

  1. of the first three, the first image makes me feel empathy. although the second image has a unique frame/crop, i would pick that one if there was a tiny bit more of a leading expression in her eye. in the last one, you look mischievous--like a child in an adult's body who has done something wrong.

  2. Favorite one is the bottom self portrait. I think it is really well done with great lighting. I think you really set up the scene well too! Good job!

  3. i wonder if there is a way to draw out the blue eyes of your sister in the first and second?

  4. I like the first close-up photo best amongst those. I enjoy how you utilised the depth of field and the intense clarity of the eyes. It looks like you improved the sleeping pose nicely, there doesnt seem to be as much noise.

Though I have to say the last shot is my favorite. Its eerie. Its well composed. Your expression is great. Love it. Great work!

  5. I really really like the 1st image. The best of those 3, and I wouldn't really change anything. I still like the image of you on the couch, the colors and lighting just give a sense of comfort. I also like the last image, I might crop something out though. I'm not sure what, but I feel like there is a lot going on, and it takes away from your face which stands out as the most important part to me. Maybe try cropping different areas like the glass or a tiny bit of the cabinets or something.

  6. I definitely like the first image, the focus and sharpness really comes through and brings the features of the subject forward in a nice way. Also, the last image is very emotional, the expression combined with the backdrop of cabinets and items within them. The retouching that you did on the couch shot is looking a lot better as well.

  7. Out of the first three, the pseudo-symmetry in the first on makes it the most interesting. I feel like you don't get a lot of that straight up angle in close ups.

And I'm obsessed with the last on, it feels so.. 50's to me, a mix of your hair, the yellow wall, those 8-ball coasters, etc. all make for a very out of time image. I'm also really glad that drink is in the foreground. Although unnoticeable at first, it really made that space feel less empty. Now that I've noticed it, it adds to my interpretation of the photo, too.

  8. I really like the last two images. The expression on your face and the way the cabinets are open in the last photo really makes the photo. The lighting is great. I'm drawn to the colors in the second to last one, and I think it is interesting the way you cropped the first three images.

  9. i love all the rich colors in all your photos... the first couples have great detail, and if I were to choose between the two i would pick the one on the top. It is the type of shot that you usually would not see.

I also really like the last photo. The lighting is great. I also like the placement of the glass in the bottom left, i think that if it was not there the picture would not be as balances.

  10. The bottom image draws the most attention from me. I think it's the expression in the eyes, it's really eerie and I like that. The warm colors are bold but not overwhelming, and the lighting is great too. I might consider trying a very slight vignette around the corners to draw the attention back into the image a bit more- the right side already accomplishes this but it would be interesting to see this on the bottom.

I like the top image the best out of that series but I wish there was either eyebrow showing on both sides or neither, or even more asymmetrical- just showing that tiny amount on the left strikes me as awkward.

  11. Now I know why I like your new haircut so much. The last photo reminds me of Audrey Hepburn!
